Our home on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Cold but a clear sky. We were out of school and it was nice to have the day off. Here's a little squirrel I saw by the parking lot near the Tabernacle. He must have found something to eat. I'm glad I didn't find this one in our garden. The tree was covered with snow and it looked pretty interesting. I guess we aren't done with the snow for quite a while.

We had a fun Saturday at Red Robin in IF. The restaurant has only been open a short while so there were LOTS of PEOPLE there! I had a great cobb salad. Dale had a bacon cheeseburger. Thanks Zane and Victoria. Waiting in line for our table. This is Victoria and Peyton. We really didn't wait very long... I like the decor there. Kind of a retro vintage 50's style. The colors vibrant and right behind me was sitting Carol Honas from TV8 News. No, I didn't ask her for her autograph. Zane is enjoying the fries and is talking about good places to eat in SLC.

Well Monday I decided to visit the doctor for my annual health visit. Since I had the day off, I thought I'd make some use of it. After all the tests and examinations were over, my provider Carol Ladle gave me a little paper with some thoughts on it. I liked them so much I thought I'd put them in the blogspot for others to see. Here are some of them: No one is in charge of your happiness except you. Forgive everyone for everything *(I like that one) What other people think of you is none of your business (true) However good or bad a situation is, it will change. Your job won't take care of you when you're sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful, or joyful. (For all those who need to declutter.) The best is yet to come. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up. Do the right thing. Each night before you go to bed, compile the following statements: I am thankful for. . . and Today I accomplished. . . Remember t

Breakfast Saturday for Dale... cooking pancakes brought back a lot of memories for me like cooking for children, making homemade syrup, and washing lots of dishes! Good times! My yummy breakfast: 3 T oat bran, 1/4 c. rolled oats, 1 apple, cinnamon, caramel flavoring, vanilla, and sugar free maple syrup. Oh, so good! Add to the meal a deviled egg and a tablespoon of cashews. Very satisfying, filling, and colorful!

I haven't posted very much lately. Getting back into work sort of consumes me but I had a very nice, serene holiday. Dale and I spent the day together just doing what we wanted. I did some cleaning over the two week vacation so I guess I could post some of those pictures... This is my sweet laundry room. It had "stuff" on the counters and now it is clear! Yeah! Victoria has inspired me to "clean up my act." Next to the storage room... Probably over the top with food storage but I like to have beans, rice, and other good staples on hand. The telephone on the dresser doesn't work. I found it at a yard sale- good reminder of my aunt Margurite's phone. I wanted my storage room to be cozy. So I painted the floor "Johnny Carino" style. No boogy men reside in this room. I moved a dresser from a bedroom to the storage room to hold some items like baking goods, utensils, and personal items. I think it is a good fit. It took me about 2 days on each r

Zane invited us to his home on New Year's Eve to hang out and watch a movie. Of course, we needed to hang the TV on the wall first and it was a good thing Dad was there because it definitely was not a one man job! I don't know why I didn't take more pictures of the children and Victoria but this is all I got. We had a nice time watching "Get Smart" and Dale OD'd on popcorn. I guess that goes hand in hand with movies. I ate my apple and was totally satisfied :)
