Full of Air

This is a student teacher at the junior high school named Miss Christensen. She is from Canada and it was the end of the trimester so she was showing the students how she plays the bagpipes. BTW, she is an excellent history teacher and I hope she gets a job at the school when she is done with her education. You can tell how much she loves history by the stories she tells about her travels to foreign countries. (Her dad is a dentist. Nice.)

Prettiest Ever

This is a rainbow cupcake. A gal at my work made these and got the recipe out of the Family Fun Magazine. I brought one home for Dale. When he bit into it I had to take a picture. It was so pretty and must have been very time consuming to make. Even the paper looked pretty! I don't think I will make these but I can appreciate their beautiful rainbows!

Come What?

I mean Kumquat! These little creatures came in my basket from the food co-op I joined. They are the size of grapes. They said to just wash them and pop one in my mouth... so I did and noticed that the skins were sweet but the inside was sour! Kind of like sour ball candy. Very interesting. I ate my cupfull portion and Dale only had two. It was too weird for him.

Basking in Sun Fun

Waterpark fun in Hawaii. Would you believe it was a rainy day? Doesn't look like it but we did get a few showers. Oh, so fun... Here's a cute picture at Kelvin's work. We stopped in to see his office and the desk behind Mandy used to belong to Admiral Nimitz . I was totally impressed with the neatness of it all. Even the kitchen in which they cook for luncheons was all neat and tidy. I want my home like that! Doesn't look like it here but later that night Dale was looking like a tomato! Totally got burnt! We were just enjoying the warmth of the sunshine but I guess because of the latitude of Hawaii the white skin just can't handle it. Good thing he had sunscreen on his head.

Vacation in Paradise

Dale and I are standing on the USS Missouri. Such a HUGE battleship! We enjoyed this visit on deck and saw where the surrender was signed to end WWII. This painting was on the floor at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Thanks Cambria for getting us the discount tickets to go to the luau and the fantastic show "Ha." We also visited the Bowfin submarine near Pearl Harbor and went to the museum. There is so much history connected to Hawaii and Ford Island. The trip was a dream come true!
