This is one of our students Logan. She's a sweet little girl that likes to play "got you last." I have to let her win all the time or she chases me around the school!
A strange angle for a picture of us but we are just leaving a dinner at the University. Dale was recognized for 30 years of service at BYU-I. Congratulations Dale!
When you get to be my age, this is considered a T reat : a surprise visit from my youngest son Cole with his little guy Holdem. Cole was in town getting new tires on his car so he stopped by. Holdem is talking well and says "Thank you." frequently. These two are good buddies.
"Digitize everything," he says "and make sure you save it to an external hard drive." This was one thing we learned at the Family History Conference on the 16th that was held at the BYU-I campus. No lunch break so we had to snack while we sat. One lady nearby didn't like the noise we made with carrots...she moved. We'll probably be listed in the "negative comments" portion of the evaluation. This fellow is one of the Legacy (family history programs) authors and he actually lives in Rexburg! We learned a lot about getting busy with the Family Search program and now we're motivated to do more. Good stuff!
Can you see what the keys say? BOSS_DAY. Some of the girls at work did this to our boss's keyboard. I thought she'd be mad but no, she thought it was cute. Keys were put back and life was back to normal for the keyboard. Happy Boss's day Jacki! (I'll have to get her picture in here somewhere.
This is the Beehive Credit Union. Nowadays it is one of my favorite places to visit. Dale and I are busting it to pay off our home mortgage thanks to the Total Money Makeover. My daughter Mandy said that we might have the last laugh. She's talking about a few years ago when our children teased us that we never bought toys or took money to enjoy life. (That's because we couldn't afford the toys!) Well, in about 8 months we hope to be totally DEBT FREE! Yep, I'll be giddily laughing all the way to the bank on that great day!
Wow, I saw this tree on my way to work today. It was just bursting with color! Yellow, orange and red. It's nice to see so much color in the trees around town. We have a lot of red bushes, yellow tree leaves and even some green still in shrubs. My next job: rake up our own leaves that fill our backyard. We have a sea of crunchy brown colors all over our lawn. :)
We picked fourteen of these cute pumpkins from our garden. Dale always likes us to can these for pies, breads or cookies. I like eating squash with with cinnamon and sweetener. I love the yellow and orange blended colors. It takes an hour in the oven. Since I was off a half day, this was my project. Tomorrow, the golden solution goes into the jars. Work? Yea but worth it.
I'm excited to try a new exercise class Lori told me about. It is on Saturdays for an hour. I hope I can last that long! I won't be wearing what they have displayed on the website but maybe a NIKE shirt will do. I'll let you know how it goes.
On October 2nd I went in for vericose vein treatment. Dr Hansen was great and it went well but if you are thinking about having this done, do take someone in to hold your hand while you have the proceedure. I was glad to have Dale with me. Right now I have a purple leg where I used to have icky veins. I hope the bruises go away soon. I'm beginning to feel abruised!
I just want to show the cute work that Lori does with her creativity. The necklace is one that she sells online and she has many more styles. You can find her here. The necklaces she makes are fun because they can be worn with jeans and a neutral top. They dress up any outfit. Check it out! Jan
This is one of my students Ashley. She is 14 but doesn't talk. She loves candy and likes to go for walk so we usually end up at the library or to Broulims just to get out of the classroom. She smiles most of the time and is pretty strong physically. Just thought I'd introduce her to you.
What a nice weekend to be in Utah. Dallan took Natalie to Hawaii and he arranged for the grandparents to tend the children. Natalie's mom Susan took care of them most of the time. We went down for a couple days to bridge the gap. Lily is happy to see her daddy. I should have taken pictures of Taylor, Matthew, and Evey. I guess I blew that! I had to get this picture of Dale feeding Lily. He hasn't fed a toddler in many a day! After awhile we went outside to enjoy the warmth. I was catching up on my reading and writing.
