OK, so after planting and harvesting beans, I decided I would can them. They taste best fresh from the garden but for storage purposes, I put them in the jars.
This little recipe booklet must be at least 30 years old. Look at all the spots on it! Just traces of canning in the past.
My mother-in-law said I should leave the short stubby ends on the beans because that is the most tender spot...so I did. Dale didn't.
Into the canner they go. The canner, by the way, has lasted a very long time too. A good investment. Dale bought it years ago when he wanted us to can pumpkin.
Eleven pints from our first picking. I hope to have many more jars of wonderful beans!
