I was sitting in Stake Conference Sunday and remembered I had my camera with me. Do I dare? I turned off my flash and documented the moment. No one noticed except the baby in front of me who just spit up on his dad's shoulder. Good distraction my friend! It was a great meeting. Elder Brent H. Nielson was the visiting authority (of the Seventy) and I like that he spoke about what to do in these strained economic times. I took notes to review when I feel blue from listening to NPR.
the pedicure participants... Sophia, 2nd from left, was the one who painted our toes. She did a great job! We'll have to do that again. It was a fun girl night!
I found this jacket/shirt at DI for $4.00. It was a good blue color and the fabric was like a suede. So I did what my daughter taught me to do...I cut off the collar! Now it is a mandarin style neckline and will go better when I put it on over my other shirts. Kinda fun and I didn't worry about ruining it since it only cost $4! Try updating your shirts!
I couldn't help myself. . . I really like the Vera Bradley purses because they are so colorful and fun looking and very well made. This is my version of a knockoff. I found a pattern I liked and bought some quilted fabric at Hancock Fabric in IF. I spent $25 BUT it will make two purses. I was bummed about spending that much but as I laid out the pattern pieces I realized it would make two. This is what I came up with. It actually looks different from the pattern because I made some changes. I have been using a green diaper bag as a purse because I liked all the pockets! Sewing knowledge comes in handy once in a while. It will do for now until I can afford a Vera. . .
