More on Marie

Image
Marie Ricks, professional organizer showed this chart on food storage inventory. I don't know if I'll have time to do that this summer but I think I'll attempt it. She also has free downloads on her website to help get us started. I do like the idea of having to shop in my own store. Now I have the storage room to do it. Fifty-percent. . . No Way! Marie said we need to get rid of 50% of our "stuff" because we don't use it and we don't need it! Pass it on so it can bless others lives. So I began by through my earrings. I donated this to the YW clothing exchange and whatever they didn't want went to DI. It does feel good to declutter. Marie said you won't believe how good you feel when you get rid of junk. I'm feeling better already!

Long Time, No See

It has been years since I've been to an Education Week at the University but I decided to go this year. It was at BYU-I on July 29-31. What a treat it was. . . This is a 10-20 year map from an organization class of what you plan might happen in the future so you can take care of your finances accordingly- ex: son on mission, daughter in college, etc. This is Marie Ricks from Huntsville, Utah, Professional Organizer . I attended ALL of the classes she taught. She had several charts and notebooks we could look at. Here's her website . Check it out. She is really amazing! I was fascinated with her ability to break down into steps the things we want to accomplish so we can be more efficient with our time and spend less of it at the stores. Here we have Marvin Goldstein and the two ladies who were introducing him to the class. We were able to hear his testimony of music and his conversion to the church. What a God given talent he has! Click on his name and you can listen to his p

Yard Sale Find

Image
Oh, I was so happy that Lori told me about her sister-in-law's yard sale. I was ready for a change in my bedding but didn't want to pay a huge price. I found this set along with the curtains for a great price. It also included two bed skirts and four more pillow shams! I made the dark peach pillow to give a little contrast. I found the picture hanging above the bed at DI. A great match!

Deadly to Weeds!

Image
This is the best tool I have found for gardening and keeping the weeds away. They use these at BYU-I in the gardens and I am lucky to have one. Squirrels and birds were eating our strawberries but I found some netting that I put over the rows and it worked good. (Dale got rid of our two naughty squirrels eventually.) Lovely raspberries make cereal taste good in the morning. Strawberries for dessert at night. We didn't know we could grow these cute little fruits but it has been a good year for them.

Continuation of last week

Image
Just a recap of last week. . . Rilee helped me at the food co-op. We had fun putting food in the baskets. Here it shows only two orders left. Lori was explaining to Gma and Gpa what she sells on the internet. Dallan couldn't come to see Gpa so we Skyped on the 19th. Art bonded with Dallan when he spent two summers up in Canada helping him and Gordon with the farm work. I had forgotten that it was two summers and it was 20 years ago! Dallan related his good memories of that time.

Me and my friend LeeAnne Dewsnup at the Beehive Cr. Union picnic. Kirk, Dale's brother, and his wife Jenine. Kirk REALLY wanted some cotton candy so that's what he's eating. Art and Jan enjoying the music. I loved the music and the food. . . we brought our own even tho they were serving some picnic food. I didn't want us to stand in line. We had a great meal of chicken, salad, pasta (not for me) and fruit salad. Enjoying the summer, yeah!
