Stamping Up

Image
Oh Yeah! We are going to see the land of Paradise. I am getting excited... thank you family for talking me into it! Ten days to go...

I'm Jan and I'm addicted to...

Headbands! Once I tried one on, I knew I was hooked! I had to have one in every color! Now I wear them every day! Thanks to missrubysue.com I feel pretty! This one is going with me to Hawaii in February. Oh, I forgot to tell you! Dale and I will be going to visit my daughter Mandy and her husband in Honolulu on Feb 10. I am excited to be there for Valentine's day and to see the cute grandchildren! For me, it is a once in a lifetime experience and I get to go with my best friend and all around great husband. He can be a growly bear at times, but he is starting to crack a smile since I bought the tickets... ha!

Another One

Image
Yep, another birthday has come and gone...You would think it was Dale's by the look on his face! Taco Time for a yummy taco salad. I had a great day. No school, lunch with my hubby, and a little shopping at Maurice's. Birthday's aren't so bad after all!

Free Hats

Image
Walmart, of all places! Rilee, Kyler, and I were in Walmart last Saturday when I was approached by a fellow customer... She wanted to know if I wanted a hat for the children. Hmmm... I didn't know what to say. She was there with a fellow in a wheel chair and a lady who looked like she was her sister. She was purchasing a ton of yarn to do more hats and had several in her cart that she already made. I said "Really?" and she said "Pick which one you like." So Rilee picked the orange one for Kyler and a purple one for her and her sister Madison. I thanked her asked for her name. She just said, "Bonnie." What a nice thing! The hat was handmade and very good quality. A perfect stranger doing a lovely service. Kyler enjoyed wearing his new hat only after I said, "Gee, I want your hat!" No way! It's his now.

More Spinning Fun

Kyler thought this was so fun. . . It spins pretty good on my kitchen floor. Even I got in the bowl for a ride! You'll have to try it sometime!

A Sweet Time

Image
On Saturday we attended the wedding reception of Angelyn Dyer and Jacob Peacock. Rilee and Kyer were enjoying the music there. I wish I would have taken pictures of the tables of food...it was pretty nice. Fruits, vegetables, french fries, cupcakes, mini burgers, condiments and one table just loaded with candy to take home! How nice it was to see old friends. Claudia Sorensen, me, Denise Flamm, and Marlyn Boam. Wow, it has been a long time! Dale and I just happened to be wearing the colors that the bride picked out for her decorations...plum and purple. We just fit right in! A very fun evening for us. Congratulations to the Dyer family. It was good to see everyone.

Life is a Bowl of Laughter

Image
I'd forgotten...When I was growing up, our Sunday School class met in the church kitchen. One day we were exploring and found some huge stainless steel salad bowls. We sat in them and spun each other around and around. Three of my grandchildren spent the night with us this weekend and Kyler, the youngest, was looking for something to do. I thought of my own salad bowl and pulled it out. What fun we had! Kyler was trying to spin Rilee but they were laughing so hard, she tipped over... Surely we could make this some sort of activity lesson for FHE. Maybe an object lesson? Any ideas?

Farewell for Now

Golly gee...Zane and family are moving to Virginia. I was sad about that but I know they will enjoy it there. Especially the activities and the weather. Lori and I are giving Zane a hug. Actually, they left January 9th but at least we got a chance to hang out together before they moved. A Wright clan photo: Dale, Lori, Zane, Cole, and me. Cole, Lori, and Zane having fun! (I told them to pose this way and they thought it was pretty corny.) I kind of like it! God bless you and your family Zane. We'll miss you. Zane and Victoria's baby Odin Ephrem Wright being held by Lori and looking on is Rilee.

It's a Girl!

Well, not in this picture. This is our dentist Dr. Strobel. He has been a great family dentist and now has my grand-children as patients! The other day Dale and I went to get our teeth cleaned. Besides learning we had no cavities we found out some other great news... After having 7 boys, Dirk and his wife had a BABY GIRL last summer! There is a 9 year difference between the youngest son and the baby girl, but you know what? Good for them! Just thought I'd let you know. It did have reprocussions for me though. That night I had a dream I had a baby and the lady next to me had triplets! Woah. Glad I woke up!

Cafe Rio Evening

Image
On Monday we met Zane and his girls at Cafe Rio in Idaho Falls. He is moving his family to Virginia so we thought we'd do some eating together. Peyton liked my headband so I let her try it on. It was nice when Peyton warmed up to us after a while. Peyton (age 2) and Faye (age 8) are cute little grand-daughters and play together well with each other. We will miss them. :( We wish Victoria could have been there too. She was trying to locate her lost wallet in their boxes they packed. Luckily she found it because she'll need her ID for the plane ride on Saturday. Many blessings to you, Zane and Victoria. It has been great to get to have you here in Idaho the past year.

Loveridgingly yours. ..

I found this the other day as I was cleaning. It was the inside cover of an old copy of The Book of Mormon. Made me think how grateful I am to Elder Loveridge who, so many years ago, shared his time and testimony with my husband Dale. Dale was baptized a member of the LDS church in November of 1971 in Great Falls, Montana, due to the missionary efforts of my mom Dorothy Holyoak Macdonald. Thanks Mom!
