Tearing it Down

Image
Kind of weird to walk outside the junior high and see this going on. It's the old Church Distribution Center that was located by the library. It's going down to make way for the library expansion. Even the big pine trees came down. I had to run into the school to get my camera for this one. Kind of interesting to see a building being torn down. I thought they were going to sell the home and move it. Guess not...

The Hazards

Image
This is the big brother Jeffrey. He has a new baby sister named Amaris. Tyson and Cambria stopped by on their way to Utah. The baby was 5 days old and she is a little doll. Amaris is my sister Marg's daughter's baby. Marg is in Hawaii right now with them, helping Cam and Tyson get settled at BYU-Hawaii. Have fun Marg!

Luncheon Reunion

Image
I don't know how to make this bigger but I'll post it anyway. Natalie is the photographer who set this up. It was a fun time to celebrate Dale's birthday. Thanks everyone for coming.

Birthday Bash

Image
Natalie and Dallan came from Lehi, Utah, to join us in the surprise luncheon for Dale. Lori and Kyler and the rest of their family was there to welcome us to Gringos. Grandchildren Lily Wright and Madison Ward. Zane with daughter Peyton along with Lori and Kimbal. Dale with his fried ice cream dessert. Looks pretty silly in the sombrero. Happy 60th! :)

Farmer's Market in Rexburg

Image
Take a look at these goodies! That chocolate cake on the right has 4 layers! Each piece is $5. I had to buy some green beans because my garden didn't give me enough. I think we shared our beans with some grasshoppers. One of our tools we have used for 36 years... the beloved pressure cooker. The finished product- low-fat, low-cal beautiful green beans!

Old Roommate.

Image
We had a visit recently from my old Ricks College roommate Linda and her husband Rod Schvanaveldt who traveled from Washington to drop off a son at BYU-I. We grew up together in Great Falls, Montana. It was so fun to talk about our old roommates and the experiences we had together. Hopefully, we'll have a reunion of all our old friends sometime.

New Shirt

Image
Dale is modeling one of his new shirts from Hawaii. Mandy lives there now and sent it for his birthday. Maybe he'll get to wear it in Hawaii sometime.

The Old Homestead

Image
The couple that now lives in Dale's old home on South Canyon Drive in Redmond, Oregon. They added on a family room to the kitchen and it is beautiful inside. This is the home that Dale was raised in. The Wright's moved to Redmond when Dale was in 6th grade. The gal that owns the home now is into antiques and this is her backyard. Each room in the house is decorated with the same theme. We were lucky to have a tour of the home after all these years. Probably a treat for Art and Jan who bought the home for $18,000 way back then (in 1960). The current couple bought the home 7 years ago for $190,000!

Wedding

Image
Here we have the grandparents of newlyweds Mary Ann and Jo Bubna. Mary Ann is Dale's neice. The happy couple. They were wed on August 21 in Portland, Oregon. Another happy couple!

Lance and Julie

Image
Lance and Julie have made a studio apt in their basement in Portland, Oregon. Julie picked out some neat colors for the wall. Lance's specialty is horticulture. . . And he experiments in his backyard. It is pretty amazing to say the least.

Robin and Ricky

Image
Robin and Ricky in front of the home they built. The walls are insulated with straw bails. Dale's parents are on the right. Robin's home from the backside. Her garden is absolutely huge! She had so many strawberries that she was tired of them. The fence is pretty tall to keep out the deer.

Oregon family

Image
This is Robin, Dale's sister. She and Ricky live in Scotts Mill, Oregon. She has a huge garden with about 10 apple trees! She is another very outdoorsy person and we had a good visit. Here we have Bruce. He ia always working on a project. Currently, he built a carport for their Scampy trailer. A picture of one of their "children" . . . the tiger lily.
