Tale of two Brains

I love this...

Would you believe?

This is a 1/2 slice of a piece of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Victoria and Zane gave us a piece yesterday. Since each slice is 720 calories, I thought I'd better cut it in half for Dale. He enjoyed it throroughly!

Grateful for. . .

One of the things I'm grateful for today is my crockpot. I love the way I can put food in it before church, come home to some good aromas, and have a great meal after fasting. Yesterday I found this pork roast at WinCo in IF and had a $1 off coupon for it. I figured that it served 4 servings so that came to $1.25 per plate. Much cheaper than dining out and my house smells good! This is another great tool for my kitchen that my husband Dale bought me several years back. I found a recipe that makes about 1 dozen rolls and so they don't go bad while waiting to get eaten up. Dale is the one who eats the rolls so I freeze them and then pull one out forhis dinner or lunch. The finished product. . . I love the smell of bread!

Picture Mary Jones took for us at the dance last Saturday. Thanks Mary. You did a great job!

Valentine's Dance

Image
Here we are at the Valentine's Dance. We had a nice time with nice people and nice music! People noticed how tall Dale is and how short I am compared to me when we danced. Oh well... I got lucky getting a tall Valentine! The refreshments and appetizers. Dale had enough to cover for both of us. Half-time Entertainment was very colorful and enjoyable to watch. I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day too!

My Valentine Necklace

Thanks Gladys for making me a cute necklace. I wore it several days this week.

Score!

My first big score at doing the coupon clipping. Albertsons had a "double coupon" promotion so I went to see what I could get. I had an ad from Fred Meyer for the Life cereal at $2 a box which they matched. Then I had a coupon for $1 off the cereal too (which they doubled). Then since I'm into dill pickles on my salad, they were originally $2.50 each but with my $1 coupon doubled, they came out to 50 cents per jar. Last but not least, I had a Yoplus yogurt coupon doubled for a grand total OOP (out of pocket) price of $3.89! The receipt said I had coupons totalling $49.18! Not bad for me. These double coupon deals don't come around very often so I was glad to make some good use of it. Thanks Patty, for helping me do the coupon thing!

Asian Culture Night

Image
Last Wednesday was our Enrichment meeting. We have a lot of Korean sisters in our ward while their husbands attend BYU-Idaho so we met together to understand their culture better. Here I am trying on a dress that costed around $800-$1000! These are hand made 100% silk with hand embroidery. They wear these every holiday. We made some rice cakes... the balls are made of rice flourmixed with water and then rolled in cake crumbs. It was a lot of fun. They brought their traditional dresses for us to try on. It is nice to have the families in our ward. They are learning English well and it is a treat to get to know them!

Thanks to Lori for letting me borrow her Asian style blouse that she made. It was fun to get dressed up out of the norm for Enrichment meeting. I had a great time!

Snowfest in Rexburg

Here I am with Faye in the horsedrawn wagon at Smith Park on Saturday. That was a lot of fun and there weren't too many people so we got right on.
